Selection process for the Worlds 2009
The Spanish Selection Trials for the Worlds Championships will be run as follows to comply with article 9 of the Spanish International Flying Fifteen Association Rules.
Helms will be selected according to points allocated to their finishing positions in the trials.
There will be 11 regattas to count as qualifying events.
There will be 12 possible scores, as the FF Championship of Spain will count as two scores. (i.e. the winner will count 1point plus 1point, etc..)
The best 7 scores for each helm will count towards selection.
The overall finishing position in the regatta shall be used for scoring the trials.
Those helmsmen with the lowest points, over their seven best scores, shall be invited to take up the places available to the Spanish team.
Any places still available will be awarded at the discretion of the President whose decision will be final.
To qualify for the trials helms must be registered as paid up members of the RFEV before the 31st March of the year preceding the World Championships.
Only qualified helms are to count in the scoring.
Helms wishing to be considered for selection must inform the President of the SIFFA as soon as possible, preferably by e-mail.
A list of qualified helms will be put on the website www.flyingfifteen.net/fifteen
The qualifying races will start with Palma Vela and the other qualifying regattas shall be put up on the FF forum.
